We met in 2017, each in the midst of personal transformation. Faith had just relocated from Houston to California with her six-year-old son, Ethan, stepping into the unknown with equal parts hope and uncertainty. Mike was learning to navigate life after the heartbreaking loss of Nancy—his beloved wife of over 40 years—following her long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s.
What began as a gentle and honest friendship slowly unfolded into something extraordinary. Ours was not a whirlwind romance, but a steady unfolding—a connection built on deep conversation, shared values, mutual respect, and moments of laughter that stitched our days together. In one another, we found not only companionship, but a safe haven.
Mike became more than a partner to Faith—he became a father figure to Ethan, not by obligation, but by choice. Through time, tenderness, and action, he earned a place in Ethan’s heart and in the life of a family that had already begun to bloom.
A Word from Ethan:
“Mike taught me how to swim, how to ride a bike, and even the fundamentals of golf. He introduced me to the joy of audio books and the challenge of dominoes . But more than anything, he’s been there—to listen, to guide, to show up. He’s helped me grow into who I’m becoming, and I’m proud to call him my dad.”
Ours is a celebration not just of love, but of heritage. Nigerian-American and Irish-American. Two cultures full of rhythm, story, and soul. From the vibrant colors of Nigerian fabrics to Irish Blarney to American pizza, we’ve brought together traditions that reflect where we come from—and created a life that reflects both. In our home, jollof rice shares the table with steak, and Afrobeat rhythms play beside rock and roll. This wedding will reflect the beautiful fusion of our worlds: colorful, heartfelt, rooted, and joy-filled.
Together, we’ve learned that true partnership isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up with intention, choosing each other again and again, and building a home that is both strong and tender. Through life’s seasons—joyful and challenging—we’ve walked side by side, hand in hand.
This wedding is more than a celebration of one day. It’s a reflection of the journey that brought us here, the family we’ve become, and the life we are so grateful to continue building together.
To our friends and family—thank you. Your love, support, and presence have carried us. You’ve walked with us, rooted for us, and helped shape this love story. We are forever grateful.
With love and full hearts,
Faith, Mike & Ethan
In Loving Memory of Nancy Casey – Beloved wife, cherished soul, enduring presence. Though no longer with us in person, Nancy’s spirit remains a quiet part of this day and every day. Her life was marked by grace, strength, and love—gifts she shared freely with all who knew her. All the beautiful years she and Mike shared continue to echo in the care, wisdom, and tenderness he carries forward with Faith. Today, we honor her memory with full hearts, knowing that love does not end—it expands.
